Phoenix ancient (aka fenghuang) town is definitely a worth visiting when you come to Zhang Jia Jie, it is only one hour away from zhang jia jie west station. Beautiful town day and night. Recommend to stay for a night to see the town when it’s lit up. The town is also filled with interesting shops/coffee/snacks and food. After frequent visits to Fenghuang Ancient Town, I've stayed at different places each time, including by the river and in the alleys of the old town, but this hotel has been the most satisfying. I stayed for 3 nights in a row, and I'll head straight here next time I visit! 🎢Here are some tips I've gathered: 1⃣️Don't stay in the riverside alleys, the scenery is nice but it's too noisy 2⃣️It's best to stay near the Tourist Center, it's close to everywhere in the ancient town~ 2⃣️It only takes a few minutes to walk to attractions like Nanhua Mountain, Cui Cui Cruise, and Rainbow Bridge 🚶‍♀️ 3⃣️It's just a ten-minute taxi ride to Qiliang Cave and Nanhua Bridge 🚗 🏨Hotel features: ⛰️The owner is a designer who returned from overseas, and the hotel has a very sophisticated style! The room we stayed in had a 5-meter long bathtub, and looking out the window from the room was like viewing a scroll of landscape ink painting. There are also rooms with private hot springs, but unfortunately, they were occupied when we were there 😭 ⚠️It only takes half an hour to fill the bathtub, and it's really comfortable to soak in the bath while watching TV and snacking. After the bath, it's also a great spot for taking photos, the results are yyds‼️ 🎁Surprise Tips: ✔️Breakfast can be delivered to the room ✔️The rooftop has the only constant temperature infinity pool in Fenghuang Ancient Town, offering a panoramic view of the city ✔️You can have afternoon tea and cook tea by the stove on the rooftop, which is also a great spot for taking photos 📷 ✔️The soundproofing and blackout are great, it's not noisy at all at midnight 🎺

China's most unique ancient town, where one can step into three provinces

🌈 Chadian is located at the junction of Hunan, Guizhou, and Chongqing. A small river runs through the town, 'The river is the historically famous You River, now called the Bai River', 'The stream is like the back of a bow, and the mountain road is like the bowstring', 'The stream is about twenty zhang wide, and the riverbed is made up of large stones. The still water, even if it's deep enough that a pole cannot touch the bottom, remains crystal clear, and the fish swimming in the river can be counted.' The city walls built along the river in the past have become another scenic spot in the ancient town today. The ancient town is surrounded by mountains and water, with a city in the mountains, water in the city, islands in the water, and legends on the islands. 🍃 Arriving at the ferry, the grandfather and grandson's 'Lala Ferry' is still in operation, but the rope has been replaced with a steel cable, and the hand-climbing rope has been replaced with a grooved wooden stick. City Escape in Jishou

Getting There - High speed train to Jishou Attractions - All around Xiangxi there are small towns, hills and places to escape from the crowds of the cities. Here in particular is a small mountain range - very similar to Zhangjiajie, albeit far smaller - that you can do in just a few hours. While the size is smaller, that also means less people, which is only ever a good thing when travelling around and visiting new places. Food & Restaurants - Not much to speak of to be honest. Especially up in the mountains but most hotels will be able to cook up a nice home meal in a warm area if you fancy it. Shopping - Not much to speak of to be honest. #thisischina

Near QianZhou Old Town

Just out of town of the QianZhou old town is the winding roads that lead up to these misty mountains. Tickets are around 80rmb or so for the day and - when visiting in the off season - you can be fairly sure that you’ll have the place basically all to yourself as i did. Oh, if you’re coming through wet season I would recommend bringing a spare set of shoes or extra socks as the path can become flooded and basically turn into just one big waterfall. But hey, it’s all part of the experience. get to the top and you’ll be rewarded with a sweet platform to look over the canyon and a awesome place to sit down and relax. #thisischina

Very well preserved old city. It was almost empty on Monday. People can be seen washing clothes in the river. Don't go into the temple. They offer you free incense, then give you a blessing. Suddenly a WeChat QR code is produced. They suggested I pay 400 Yuan but I gave 100 just to get out of there and no hassle.
