Kaiseki cuisine is very exquisite. Every dish is exquisite, and the taste is good. Friends who like meat are advised not to go. Generally, just taste the taste. You can't eat enough.

Maruyama is probably the Kaiseki restaurant in Kyoto that I have visited the most times. I ate it three times in the autumn of 2016 alone. But it seems that no food review has been written about Maruyama. Maybe it’s because it’s too familiar, or maybe it’s because Maruyama really changed later on. I hate it as much as I love it. This is probably such an emotion. The founder of Maruyama, Kao Maruyama, is an extraordinary warrior who was trained by Murata Yoshihiro under the tutelage of "Kikunoi" (meter 3). He serves as the head chef at "Kikunoi Roan" (meter 2) , and later served as the chef at "Kodaiji Wajiden" (meter 2), with 12 years of practical experience. In 1988, he opened his own store "Gion Maruyama". Ten years later, he opened another branch "Kenninji Gion Maruyama". Both restaurants received two Michelin stars in 2009, so Chef Jiaying is a culinary expert with four stars. Maruyama's dishes are like carefully crafted works of art. The beauty is deeply rooted in people's hearts and is unforgettable. In addition, the strong sense of season is displayed, and you will have a dreamlike illusion, as if you are enjoying the autumn of Kyoto through this food show. In terms of ingredients, Chef Jiaying is not stingy either. Sea urchin, matsuba crab, and matsutake mushrooms are all available. It seems that he wants to present all the good seasonal ingredients in autumn to diners. Classic cooking methods and stable techniques allow Maruyama's dishes to achieve high scores in every dish. This is also the most important reason why I like Maruyama. As for why I hate it, maybe it's because the business method of "Xueyoudenshi" makes me feel that it deviates from the original insistence of the craftsman. If only life could only be like the first time we met.

摆渡修行
We went to Shuihui, and one spoonful of it ruined a teammate. My useless friend burst into tears: "This is too spicy." I took a spoonful of it, and it was so spicy that my head was dizzy, and then I unconsciously scooped another full spoonful of soup into my mouth. The curry soup that had just been served was boiling hot and bright red. My tongue said it wanted to surrender, but my brain said, it was so refreshing. It was fragrant and spicy. This store was simple and careless. The menu was messy, and people frowned when they saw it. What is this? How can European curry and Indian curry be placed in the same store? I ordered a double curry, one side was sweet and sticky beef tendon curry, and the other side was spicy pork belly soup curry. The rice was like a dam across the middle, blocking the pork belly curry soup from flowing to the other side. I looked at them like a bowl of sweet and salty tofu pudding with dragons and tigers fighting each other, and there was only one line of words in my mind "Mixed, dangerous!" (I hope someone can catch this joke) The amazing thing is that every flavor of curry is delicious. Plus it's so spicy that it doesn't care about the life and death of the customers, which makes it even more fascinating.

Authentic Japanese cuisine and elegant traditional environment but not too fresh, service is OK but not up to Michelin standards in Europe and America. After eating, I always feel that it is not worth it.

After shopping, I felt a little hungry, so I came to this Japanese restaurant in the nearby block. The Japanese karaage, salmon sashimi and salmon in this restaurant are all very good. I personally recommend ordering them. The price-performance ratio is also relatively high.

Nanchan Temple Shunzheng, didn't make a reservation, came here to try my luck, there are nice seats Ordered the snow, moon, and flower set meal, and also ordered a few dishes and draft beer In the set meal, you can choose tofu skin or soup tofu, I ordered both, and the tofu skin tasted better, you can scoop it yourself. I tried Kyoto cuisine tofu both times I came to Kyoto, and both were pretty good. The courtyard is very beautiful, with fallen maple leaves on the ground. I suggest you take a walk around the courtyard after dinner.

Suiran Hotel is convenient to get to from Sagano Station. Walk to Togetsu Bridge, turn right, and walk along the river to the end. The hotel has only a few dozen rooms, a typical Japanese garden and a riverside cafe. The room is decorated in a Western style, especially large, 45 square meters, clean and comfortable, in line with the taste of a boutique hotel. For rooms without hot springs, you can book a private hot spring, the hot spring water is carbonated spring.

Kaiseki cuisine was originally a meal served by the host to the guests during the Japanese tea ceremony. However, it is now not limited to the tea ceremony and has become a common high-end cuisine in Japan. "Kaiseki" means to be like a saint wearing a coarse cloth but holding a jade in his heart. Its form is "one soup and three dishes" (or one soup and two dishes).

Their cuisine is really creative and delicious, and of course the price is not cheap. As far as Japanese cuisine is concerned, their standard is the highest quality place. Every dish (more than 14 in total) not only looks good, but also tastes great. You can appreciate the ingenuity of each dish, and you can feel the balance of ingredients and seasoning in every bite. Highly recommended, if you can make a reservation among many people, please enjoy it!
