Whiskey and Wine by Crystalbrook

Really liked the vibe of this place. We went in for some drinks and they had a DJ playing some great music. Nice view of the Corniche. Semi-outdoor and outdoor seating available.

The Cosmopolitan I ordered was serced in a Prosecco glass which was half empty and I thought it hardly hardly had any alcohol in it considering the price was very disappointing. Same sort of comments for the people I was with for their drinks.

I booked a table asked to sit near glass wall to look over esplanade, our table was at back of verandah. Walk in people get tables over looking esplanade why make a booking & request, then you keep getting messages checking if you are keeping booking. Was not happy about start of afternoon there.

First of all we didn’t know it’s not a dining location. So keep that in mind, it’s more a wine bar with some finger food. As we were planning to dine in, we wanted to order some food and asked for some recommendations but the waiter was not very helpful. We ordered the oysters and the focaccia with Parmesan cheese to start with.. the oysters were bad in taste and quality, and the focaccia was a bad tasting English sandwich. It’s a nice location with view over the esplanade, but we would not come again. The service was bad, we ordered some water with our drinks and although it was not busy at all, the waiter forgot to deliver it. Also, we needed to confirm our reservation 2 times in advance of the evening, which is so exaggerated, and ‘funny’ enough when we came in there was not even 15% occupied. This bar should have improve service rapidly, increase food quality as well as become more clear it’s not a restaurant for dining. Otherwise it is set up for failure.

No Atmosphere. Crew still green, and no food options available despite been in close vicinity other venues in the hotel. Whiskey not included in menu so only available at bar. No table ordering service, had to go to bar to order despite having set up a tab.
