Traveling to Hohhot with male tickets, the first dinner was dedicated to Deshunyuan! Sure enough, we were not disappointed! Ordered the signature lamb roast wheat and hand stewed meat, and the two people ate it separately, just right. Watching him being burned by the soup of roast wheat and reluctant to put it down, it was really cute! 🥰 Under the steaming food and warm lighting, it feels like two people are closer. This feeling of exploring food and sharing happiness together is really happy!
✨Foreword: Even if it's not the peak season for scenery, Hohhot's food is worth a trip. It truly deserves its title as the "Pearl of the Grasslands"—shaomai (steamed dumplings), ice-boiled lamb, roasted lamb chops, dairy products, braised noodles and stews 🤤 The quality of Inner Mongolian lamb and beef is simply amazing! 💭So many delicious things to try, one post isn't enough! Iced boiled lamb, braised noodles, stew, Mongolian cuisine (see previous post) ✅Full version in pictures 14-18 4️⃣Shaomai & Lamb Offal Soup Shaomai Street (Xiaozhaoqian Street) Besides these two, there are other established shaomai shops. 📍Deshunyuan 4.5⭐ Order by weight of the wrapper; one liang (50g) of wrapper = 8 shaomai ▫️Scallion Shaomai: Refreshing and not oily, thin wrapper with plenty of filling, the wrapper is very chewy and doesn't fall apart, bursting with juice in one bite. ▫️Fried Shaomai: Lamb and scallion filling, crispy and fragrant, not oily. 📍VIP Pure Lamb Offal Soup 4⭐ ▫️Pure Lamb Tripe and Offal Soup: Perfect for those who rarely eat offal; the lamb tripe is stewed until tender, without any gamey smell, and the broth is milky and fragrant. 5️⃣Eating in Kuan Alley 📍Xingyue Pastry Shop 4.5⭐ ▫️Cheese Milk Tofu Cake 💰8/each Hot and delicious, the filling is stretchy, very milky but not too sweet, and the skin is soft yet chewy. 📍Milk Skin Candied Hawthorn (opposite Xingyue Pastry Shop) 4⭐ Hawthorn + Milk Skin 💰12r/each, fresh hawthorn paired with milk skin, sweet and sour. 📍Xiaoku Milk Station 4.5⭐ 💰3r/bottle of pasteurized fresh milk. Compared to other fresh milk I bought locally, this one is rich in milk flavor and sweet. I buy a bottle every time I pass by. 📍Ma Dajie Fruit Porridge 3.5⭐ 💰6r/cup Dried apricots + persimmon cake, appetizing and refreshing. 📍Zhusala Dairy Products 4⭐ Dairy souvenirs. Recommended: milk skin, milk skin rolls. 6️⃣Spicy Hot Pot Too full to go to the other places. 📍Qingshuiwatai 4⭐ Went for a bath and ate Mala Tang (spicy hot pot) Fragrant + spicy + rich sesame sauce, 💰22/serving 7️⃣ Barbecue 📍Junwang Iron Hat Barbecue 3.5⭐ They help with grilling, always one meat + one vegetable Recommended: Egg: Must order, especially fragrant Lamb + cilantro/garland chrysanthemum Beef + lettuce + dried bean curd Pork belly + sauerkraut Kimchi 8️⃣ Copper Pot Hot Pot 📍Erdun 3⭐ The lamb quality is good, but the taste isn't as special as Bingzhu Yang (ice-boiled lamb) Food and Shopping Route Day 1 Airport → Lao Huo Jia Braised Noodles and Stew + Bayin Tao Ri Gu De Stewed Vegetable Restaurant → Hotel → Hadamen → Zecheng Bingzhu Yang (ice-boiled lamb) Day 2 Self-driving Hotel → Saiyide Mongolian Restaurant → Kuanzhai Alley → Jiulong Bay → Hongshiya → Huanghuawopu → Chulechuan Grassland → Iron Hat Barbecue → Qingshuiwatai Bath + Mala Tang Day 3 City Day Trip: Hotel → Shaomai Street, Deshunyuan + VIP Pure Lamb Offal Soup → Kuanzhai Alley → Delehai Mongolian Restaurant → Baoerhan Pagoda → Guanyin Temple → Dazhao Temple → Sai Shang Old Street → Xilituzhao Temple → Erdun → Airport
