The Lou Mandrin bartender recommended a hot version, so I opted for it as a novelty. Initial aromas of pepper and green apple are present, followed by a walnut flavor. It's not overpowering, and the nutty flavor is just right, giving it a warm, chocolatey feel without being overly sweet. When hot, it's smooth, not alcoholic, with a slightly bitter, herbal finish. It's perfect for drinking quickly. When it cools, the brandy flavors surge through. I enjoy hot cocktails; the combination sounds conflicting, but it's complex and intense. The Squash Squash, while advertised, contains pumpkin, but I couldn't taste it. The glass shape is similar to a water-cut version, and the VSOP version is super smooth. The secret seasoning gives it a refreshing aroma. The thin slices on top resemble fruit leather with chia seeds. Wonderful. The first two drinks were excellent, and the bartender enjoyed discussing his new journey in making drinks. I ordered a Pendennis Club. I saw it was apricot flavored, and I really didn't like it. I think it was all due to the Sapphire Gin. They added a lot of artificial flavoring to mask the gin's aroma. I told the bartender I didn't like it.
