The boss is a funny old man,
he kept saying he was handsome in Chinese!
After returning to Sapporo from Otaru,
I ate the famous Sukiyaki and Sumo pot at Sapporo Sumo Teahouse Pompokotei
I was very satisfied.
The night ends with a perfect view of Sapporo tower.

Masa Sushi is located at 1-1-1 Hanazono 047-0024, Otaru City, Hokkaido. The store is located on the bank of the Otaru Canal. If you can book a seat by the front window, it is really a special enjoyment to eat facing the canal. The ingredients are very fresh, the price is a bit expensive, there are many sushi sets, and the taste is normal and delicious.
Friends who like sashimi will definitely have their own preferences. If you don’t have any dietary restrictions, the set meal is a good choice. Masa Sushi is ranked number one in Otaru cuisine. We didn’t make a reservation in advance, so we decided to queue up directly in the store before it opened.
Otaru, known as the best sushi restaurant in Japan, Masa Sushi, probably because it is close to the sea and the ingredients are fresh. Masa Sushi is so delicious that I am at a loss for words. I can only say "melts in your mouth" over and over again. I especially recommend the sea urchin stewed egg, which is really well-deserved.
We arrived at 1:30, so we didn't have to wait too long for a table. A must-eat online celebrity restaurant in Otaru, with many tourists in the store. The environment and service are first-class. Sushi should be swallowed in one bite, and the mouth is full of the aroma of seafood. The squid and tuna belly are my favorites, which are very fresh and the delicious taste fills the whole mouth. The 3500 yen sushi set I ordered includes tuna belly, tuna, sea urchin, fish roe, prawns and three kinds of seasonal sushi. Highly recommended
There are numerous famous sushi restaurants in Otaru, and Zheng Zushi is one of the oldest ones with a history of more than 63 years. The ingredients are caught every morning from Takashima Fishing Port in the north of Otaru City and sent to the nearby fish market for sale. The seafood is transported to the sushi restaurant before dawn, so the sushi in the restaurant is very delicious and unforgettable.
It is said that its third-generation head, Keisuke Nakamura, won the gold medal in the Hokkaido Nigiri Sushi Technical Competition. Behind the long bar in the store, sushi chefs lined up in a row, and the production process was very ritualistic. Perhaps if you respect the food, the food will give you a noble taste. Salmon belly, salmon roe, white fish, scallops, prawns, squid, sea urchins, and conchs are all seasonal choices in Hokkaido. You can tell how fresh they are from the sweet and crisp taste. A glass of Hokkaido white wine is perfect!
If you're a sushi lover and want to savor the ultimate Otaru sushi, then head to the sushi street known locally as "Otaru Sushi-ya Dori." Dozens of sushi restaurants, large and small, are clustered along this street, enduring in popularity thanks to their affordable prices and delicious flavors. Don't miss it. The long-established Masazushi is a hallmark of this street. To make the trip worthwhile, my first meal was at Masazushi, a century-old, third-generation, established sushi restaurant known as "Japan's No. 1." Masazushi isn't a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but a traditional establishment, with sushi chefs lined up behind a long counter preparing sushi. If you visit in November, you can also try the restaurant's imported tuna from the waters off Canada, known as "the most delicious tuna in the world." [Masa Sushi] Address: 1-1-1 Hanazono, Otaru City (Sushiya-dori). Take a seat at the sushi counter on the first floor. There are approximately four sushi chefs, each serving a specific group in front of them, ensuring each sushi is fresh and delicious. The chefs' deft and rhythmic nigiri-making is like an artistic performance. If you understand sushi, you can sense the culture and soul that goes into each piece. A 5,400 yen nigiri set includes 12 varieties, including abalone, sea urchin, salmon roe, clams, scallops, and wagyu beef. The ingredients are exquisite; the freshness, the flavor, and the portions are excellent value. Even more impressive are the exquisite serving utensils, which not only delight my taste buds but also my eyes.
