Sagaing Hill Restaurant

Sagaing Hill Restaurant is the best restaurant I have eaten in Mandalay. The taxi driver brought me here. It is quite large, and many European and Chinese tourists eat here. The hygiene and environment are also OK. Compared with other restaurants in Mandalay, it is already very good. I ordered spring rolls, stir-fried vegetables, shrimp salad, and Kung Pao chicken, and finally I was 70% full.

Although we told the driver that we wanted to go to a local restaurant, he still brought us here. Based on our later experience in local restaurants in Bagan and Yangon, the driver was probably afraid that we would not be used to the food. The guests of Sagaing Hill Restaurant are basically tourists from various countries. Except for the waiters, there are almost no locals. The waiters can speak English and the communication is very smooth. It may be closely related to that period of history. It feels that the popularity of English in Myanmar and the English level of Burmese people are very high in the entire Southeast Asian countries. The freshly squeezed juices in Myanmar restaurants are all original and genuine. This place is no exception. The price is really touching. A glass of juice is about 1,500 to 2,500 Myanmar Kyats, which is only about 6, 7 to 10 yuan in RMB. We ordered a few dishes. Everyone’s favorite is [Spicy and Sour Fried Pork], and later they added another one. The fried pork in Myanmar restaurants is basically lean meat, and it is large, without the part where the tendons fall off. But I feel that the chefs are generally rough, so the lean meat is particularly dry, but the taste is not woody, and it melts in the mouth, which is probably related to the good quality of the meat. The spicy and sour fried pork is added with a seasoning similar to Sichuan bean paste, so it is particularly suitable for our taste and very appetizing. The taste of [Curry Chicken] is relatively inferior, but the quality of the chicken is still very good. [Fried Spring Rolls] and [Stir-fried Seasonal Vegetables] are also good. There is also a free fruit plate after the meal. I was delayed for a while, and it was divided up by several people. Everyone smacked their lips and praised the freshness of the fruit... Oh, this plastic friendship... Although it is a restaurant for tourists, the price is really not high, only about 30 yuan per person.

This restaurant is very clean. The food is good for Chinese people.
