Crumpled NomadTucked away in a humble shop along Sukhumvit Soi 26, Rung Rueang Pork Noodle is a true local institution and a must-visit for any food lover in Bangkok. Despite its modest appearance, this place has earned a stellar reputation over the years — and for good reason.Rung Rueang serves a deceptively simple dish: pork noodles. But don’t let the simplicity fool you — each bowl is a masterclass in balance and flavor. You can choose your noodles (thin, thick, or glass noodles) and opt for either the soup or dry version. The dry version, tossed in a spicy-sour seasoning of chili, lime, and fish sauce, packs a punch and brings out the flavor of the tender minced pork and meat slices. The soup option is equally impressive — clear yet incredibly rich and aromatic, infused with pork essence and herbs that make each slurp deeply satisfying. Each bowl also comes with perfectly bouncy pork balls and crispy pork lard that adds texture and depth. The portion sizes are not huge, so you might want to order two bowls if you’re feeling hungry — or if you want to try both versions.Prices are very wallet-friendly, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and preparation. The staff work quickly and efficiently, turning over tables in record time, yet the experience never feels rushed. The crowd here is a mix of loyal locals and savvy tourists, all drawn by the same thing: authentic flavor at unbeatable value.Rung Rueang Pork Noodle isn’t fancy, and it doesn’t try to be. It’s a place where the food does all the talking — and it speaks volumes. If you’re in Bangkok and craving something comforting, honest, and deeply satisfying, this is one spot that truly lives up to the hype.

Had this literally every day during my stays in Bamgkok….so tasty yet so cheap and fulfilling. 老闆 is very friendly too. The fried crispy fish skin is also worth trying. I miss this!
It is just downstairs from the Hilton Garden Inn, and there are plenty of seats. The coarse noodles I ordered tasted very good, like cold shrimp. The portion is small, so I recommend ordering a large portion. I don't recommend ordering spicy food, because it only tastes spicy and nothing else.
At noon, I went with my colleagues to try the very popular rice noodle shop Rung Ruang Noodles. There were almost no seats left at lunch time. There are not many dishes in this small shop. I chose egg yolk rice noodles, thin rice noodles, and thick rice noodles, all with fish balls and pig intestines or offal. I also chose fried fish skin. The crispy fried fish skin was soaked in the soup for a while, and the spicy taste of the soup also had a different flavor. This is the restaurant that ordinary people go to. A portion is 50 baht, and it is full!
Maybe it's because I never get tired of eating Rongtai. I found that the menu has changed and the prices have jumped by 10 baht. There used to be three sizes - small, medium and large bowls. Now there are only the prices of normal (small) bowls and medium bowls. To be honest, the portion has become smaller 🥹 but it's still delicious. Medium bowl 60 baht Large bowl 70 baht
A must-eat when you come to Thailand! Rongtai! The point is that this old brand has been open for more than 50 years. The pork, liver, fish balls and rice noodle soup is a must-eat for gourmets. The shops on the left and right have slightly different tastes and flavors. The soup is also very delicious with a lot of ingredients. I like the spicy Tom Yum soup the most.
There are three choices for the base: rice noodles, egg noodles, and rice noodles My favorite is rice noodles There are also three flavors to choose from: hot and sour dry noodles, clear soup, and hot and sour soup Highly recommend 👍🏻Hot and sour soup The temperature is over 30 degrees, hot and spicy, it is refreshing to eat Don't order a small portion, it is not enough, order a medium or large portion There are four choices for ingredients: pork and fish balls and fish cakes, and those who are not picky can order a mixed [hehe][hehe] ✔️Fried fish skin is a must-order every time ✔️Longan tea is also very delicious
