Introduction: Wakayama Castle was built in 1585 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's brother Toyotomi Hidenaga. In 1619, Tokugawa Ieyasu's son Tokugawa Yorifusa became the lord of the castle. As the residence of the "Kishu Tokugawa Family", one of the three Tokugawa families, it has gone through 250 years of history. In 1935, 11 buildings including the castle tower, corner tower, and Nanmen were designated as national treasures, but all 11 buildings were burned down due to war. The castle tower was rebuilt in 1958 after the war, showing its former majesty. Various exhibits related to the Tokugawa family are exhibited inside the castle tower, and you can have a panoramic view of Kikawa and Wakayama city from the high-rise observation deck. In addition, there is also a national designated scenic spot "Red Leaf Creek Garden" in the city, where you can enjoy elegant scenery.
