Addo Elephant National Park

Addo Elephant National Park - Main Entrance Gate 🐘

Entrance Addo National Park is the main entrance to the north of Addo Elephant National Park. It can be reached in 1 hour by car from Port Elizabeth. The road signs are clear along the way. You can locate it by searching "Addo Main Gate" on the map navigation. The main entrance is designed to combine functionality and a sense of history. After inspection, visitors enter the park through an arch with local architectural features. The main road extending from the entrance is known as the "elephant corridor", where elephants, zebras and other animals can be easily seen. Entrance facilities include a gas station, souvenir shops and restaurants, serving local specialty Rooibos tea and barbecue. It should be noted that the gate has different opening hours in different seasons. Security personnel are still on duty at the entrance gate after the park closes, but entry is prohibited without prior arrangement when the gate is closed.

Tsitsikamma National Park

Tsitsikamma National Park is a component of the Garden Route National Park, extending along the south coast of South Africa, with a marine protected area covering dozens of km of pristine coastline. The landscape here is diverse—primeval forests spread along river valleys, cliffs plunge directly into the sea, mountain fynbos and coastal wilderness grow intertwined, and rivers rush from the inland into the sea, carving out deep canyon views. Storms River Mouth is the core area of the park. A suspension bridge spans the mouth, and walking on it offers a view of the magnificent convergence of river water and ocean waves. On the other side of the bridge, a short, steep trail leads to a viewing platform, where you can take in the panoramic view of the entire mouth. The Otter Trail from Storms River to Nature's Valley is a classic multi-day hiking route in South Africa, spanning approx. 40 km, traversing beaches, cliffs, wilderness, and primeval forests, offering panoramic views of the coastline along the way.
