Route 66 is an old, worn-out asphalt road, cracked in some sections with weeds sprouting from the gaps. Occasionally, an abandoned gas station stands by the roadside, its sign rusted but still standing, its pump covered in dust. Driving into a small town, the neon lights outside old restaurants don't work during the day, and old photos and broken guitars are displayed in the windows. Next to it, an old Chevrolet, rusted to its frame, sits there like a sculpture. There's hardly anyone around; the wind whistles through the road signs, creating a desolate atmosphere.

The most famous attraction in St. Louis, the landmark building, the Arch is 600 feet high, 192 meters, and can be seen from a distance. You can feel the science and grandeur of the building when you get close. It is said that it cost more than 2 billion US dollars. You can take a cable car to the top and overlook the city in the direction of the old courthouse. You can take the north side bridge to cross the Mississippi River, which is Illinois. You can see the Arch from the bridge or a platform opposite.

The St. Louis Zoo is located in Forest Park and admission is free. The zoo is well maintained and it was great to see penguins, birds, and orangutans.

It was my first time to visit the forest park. It covers a large area. I only walked a small part of it in more than 2 hours. It was autumn, and the leaves were red, which was particularly beautiful against the blue sky! I visited the museum, but I could only understand the Asian part.

The museum has a gloomy, somewhat frightening atmosphere, but it's suitable for children to burn off energy. Many of the passageways are designed for children to climb and walk around in, making it more like a scary playground than a museum—a rather incongruous mix.
