Picked up at hotel by Trishna. He was very friendly and happy to answer questions as we drove. Explained everything clearly when we got to the zoo. Breakfast was a lovely buffet with plenty to choose from. Then the Orang-utans and Elephants were brought along. I fed the elephant and although lots of people there we had plenty of opportunity to see the animals and hear about them from zoo keeper. Animals looked well cared for and seemed happy to sit up high and have people take photos. Think they were watching us and having fun doing it. Not a huge zoo and we are not huge lovers of zoos but this one seems fairly well run and being improved all the time. It was an amazing experience to be so close to these magnificent animals and the experience was well handled by the staff.

A wonderful zoo, with many animals, especially the initial ones that are open, and with two areas well connected by an internal shuttle. The terrace above the bar is also lovely, allowing you to admire everything from above. I got there easily with Gojek, so be wary of anyone who says it won't arrive.

A one-day tour with Mr. Zheng He, who drives for us, is better than a year of independent travel. Our itinerary in Ubud was arranged and led by Mr. Wayan Zheng He. He was very talkative, sharing a lot about local Balinese culture and recommending many restaurants. Also, when we were caught in a sudden downpour at the Tegallalang Rice Terraces and Tirta Empul Temple, Mr. Zheng He personally brought us umbrellas. This trip was perfect, and we are very grateful to Mr. Zheng He for his company for the entire day!


