Reviews: Genting Highlands & Batu Caves One Day Tour with Guide option and Cable Car Ride
Guest User2026-11-01
Batu Caves are beautiful, but they're crowded, stuffy, damp, and slippery. The stop at the store with rather high prices was confusing. It would be nice if the route information was posted in a group, perhaps on WhatsApp, as it was difficult to understand the guide's English.

Batu Caves, located in the northern suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, is a Hindu temple built inside a limestone cave. A giant gilded statue of Hindu war god stands at the entrance. Reaching the temple requires climbing 272 colorful steps, and one must constantly be wary of numerous monkeys!

Reviews: Kuala Lumpur 1-day tour: Batu Caves + National Mosque of Malaysia + Petronas Twin Towers + Independence Square + Petaling Street

Hiring a car in Kuala Lumpur is very convenient because many attractions are just places you can walk in and take a picture. Also, public transportation in Kuala Lumpur doesn't seem particularly convenient. I recommend hiring a car. However, some drivers will take you to shops where they get a commission, while others won't. You can make your own requests; don't be afraid to speak up. For example, our driver asked if we wanted to buy chocolate, and I said we didn't, and he didn't insist.
