Activity Details
Built in 1947, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a heritage-listed zoological garden at the Golden Coast in Currumbin. Covering 27 acers, it is one of the most prestigious wildlife zoos in Australia. The sanctuary is world-renowned for its feeding of huge flocks of free-flying wild rainbow lorikeets, which come to the sanctuary to feast off the special mixture which the lorikeets eat
There are abundant eucalyptus trees and rainforests in the zoo, providing favourable living conditions for the animals. The biggest highlight in the park is the wild rainbow lorikeets. They fly to the park twice a day, about 8:30 in the morning and about 16:00 in the afternoon. They will stop on your shoulders and hands and look for food from you, which is very cute. There are also cold-blooded, scorpion-specific themes in the park, and you can take pictures of cute animals. Visitors who are brave enough can also surround the snake around their necks or on their shoulders
There are also many interesting animal shows in the park. In Wild Animal Touch, which is presented twice a day, you will see a variety of Australian wild animals, including Australia's unique wild dogs, pouches and reptiles. In WILDSKIES FREE FLIGHT BIRD SHOW, the staff will introduce the habits of different birds while they fly over you. You will be amazed by the power of the eagles as they fly by. In addition to the animal show, there is a wonderful Aboriginal cultural performance every morning in the zoo. In the afternoon, you can participate in the traditional dance festival and witness the charm of Australian Aboriginal music and dance civilization
More interestingly, you can explore Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary after picnics and barbecues at night. You will meet different kinds of wild night animals and learn about their living habits
