Chengdu(Seito)The capital of Sichuan province. Located in the western part of the Sichuan Basin, it is blessed with a mild climate and rich water veins, and has been a land rich in products since ancient times. It is called "The Land of Heaven."It was in 221 during the Three Kingdoms period that Liu Bei Xuande established the Shu Han state in this area. Also, it was in the 8th century that Du Fu established a hermitage in this area and lived a relatively calm life after a wandering life.It is also the home of Sichuan cuisine. There are many dishes that are familiar to Japanese people, such as mapo tofu and dandan noodles. However, the way chili pepper and Japanese pepper are used is slightly different. I feel numb.Panda farming baseWhen you think of Sichuan, you think of pandas.A panda conservation and breeding base built in 1987 with the cooperation of the Chengdu city government.Dozens of cute pandas currently live on the base, and you can see them all up close, from baby pandas to adults.Leshan Big Buddha(Rakuzan Daibutsu)It was registered as a world cultural and natural heritage site in 1996!It was carved over a period of 90 years during the Tang Dynasty (713 AD) to pray for flood control and safe navigation, and was completed in 803 AD.It sits overlooking the Min River with Lingyun Mountain in the back.At 71 meters high and 29 meters wide, it is the largest stone-carved seated Buddha in China and is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.It is said that up to 100 people can ride on the top of the foot.As the saying goes, ``Mountains are Buddhas, and Buddhas are mountains,'' the temple has an imposing stance that makes each mountain look like a statue of Buddha.
