Wuhan(Bunkan)The capital of Hubei Province.It is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, at the confluence of the Yangtze River and its largest tributary, the Han River.It consists of three areas formerly known as the Three Towns of Wuhan: Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang.Of Wuhan's three towns, Hankou was the most bustling, and the main commercial district is also concentrated here.Wuhan is the birthplace of the ancient Jing-Chu culture, and the cultural relics that remain there still convey the flavor of the rich ancient Chu culture.During the Second Sino-Japanese War, after the Japanese army captured Nanjing, the capital of China, it was decided to move all the capital functions to Chongqing. The Japanese army repeatedly bombed Chongqing, and used Wuhan as their base. Yellow Crane TowerThe Yellow Crane Tower stands on top of Kameyama, a mountain on the Hanyang side of the north bank of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, which spans the Yangtze River.It was founded during the Wu Dynasty of the Three Kingdoms period.The famous Battle of Yiling took place in 221 AD, between the Shu army of Liu Bei and the Wu army of Sun Quan. Among the many artifacts excavated from the tomb of a person named "Zeng Hou Yi," one that drew particular attention was a ring of bells. A ring of bells is an ancient musical instrument that is equivalent to what is called a carillon in the West. The set of 65 bells excavated from the tomb of Zeng Hou Yi is very large.
