Puerto Princesa

Declared as one of the WORLD's NEW 7 WONDERS OF NATURE in 2012, and inscribed in the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List on 1999 on the merit of its magnificent subterranean river with unique formation that empties on the sea, Underground River remains to be the best attraction in Puerto Princesa.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/35021e000001f48q33A31_Z_1000_0.jpg" sourcewidth="1000" sourcehight="661"><img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/350b1e000001ezjve1985_Z_1000_0.jpg" sourcewidth="1000" sourcehight="668">The watershed area of the river within the park is covered by primary forest which is home to many endemic species of animals and plants. The only national park in the country situated within the city boundaries, the Puerto Princesa Underground River's main features is the Cabayugan River which flows in an easterly direction for over eight (8) kilometers under spectacular massif limestone karts towards the South China Sea. This is the longest water-crossing zip line ever created in the Philippines. Conclude this adventure with a 71- meter drop single-rider zip line. Harnessed with top-of-the-line verticality and climbing gears, tools and equipment (PETZL), this ‘death defying’ drop promises adventure like no other. ‘Ugong’, which means humming sound, is what one hears when the rock formations are tapped with bare hands.
