Itinerary Overview:
The journey begins in Belfast, exploring the beautiful Northern Ireland and the Giant's Causeway. A short drive takes you to the first stop: Carrickfergus Castle, a 12th-century Norman castle. Capture photos of the castle and harbor here. Travel along the Antrim Coast Road, passing through nine glens and small towns. Listen to tales of fairies in the glens along the way. Drive through Glenarm, passing by Carnlough Harbour, Waterfoot Cave, and Cushendun's Curfew House. Cross Glencorp and Glendunn, pass the coastal town of Ballycastle, and arrive at Portaneevy Viewpoint to admire the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge, with views of the Kintyre Peninsula and Rathlin Island. Head to The Dark Hedges, known as the King's Road in "Game of Thrones." Stroll through the trees. Enjoy lunch (at your own expense) at a traditional pub en route. The Old Bushmills Distillery, a popular local representative of traditional English whiskey production, is a favored stop about 10 minutes from the Giant's Causeway. The guide will arrange a visit based on the day's schedule, but this is not a mandatory shopping activity—only for optional exploration. Pass by Carnlough Harbour and the Magharmorne Quarry, home to the Black Castle, before arriving at the Giant's Causeway to learn about the legend of the giant Finn MacCool.
