Join this adventure and experience all the wonderful features of Iceland's glaciers: you'll hike up Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull glacier, where you'll have the chance to enter a blue ice cave . Skaftafell National Park is a beautiful nature reserve in southeastern Iceland, filled with spectacular natural wonders. You'll explore these wonders on the glacier outlet of Vatnajökull. Vatnajökull is not only Europe's largest glacier, but also home to Iceland's highest mountains. On a glacier hike, you'll explore breathtaking ice formations and mills while learning how glaciers are formed and how they are constantly changing. The most breathtaking natural ice cave you will ever see, step inside this amazing structure and discover fantastic blue ice. Lace up your hiking boots and get ready for an incredible journey! The tour will start from the meeting point near Skaftafell (please check the meeting point location carefully before departure). There you will meet your professional glacier guide 20 minutes before departure. The tour guide will provide you with necessary equipment: crampons, helmets, ice axes, skates, raincoats, etc. Put on your gear and start your glacier hiking trip! Due to the large amount of melting ice, it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the glacier. On the way you will be able to see how the ice deforms the bedrock, the mosses of the surrounding mountains, and in the lagoon you will see the last remains of melting ice. Upon arriving at the glacier, your guide will teach you how to walk on the ice, and after a quick safety briefing, you will begin your hiking experience on the Falljökull glacier, one of the most magical and mysterious exits of Vatnajökull. The Falljökull exit is different from other exits in that you can enjoy the dramatic glacier landscape during a glacier hike of approximately a few hours.
