Our Glenfinnan, Glencoe and Fort William adventure begins at the Royal Mile departure point in the heart of Edinburgh. Leave the busy streets of Edinburgh behind, passing iconic sights such as Edinburgh Castle, before heading north into the rugged Scottish Highlands. We stop for supplies at Callander, the gateway to the Highlands, before continuing to Glencoe. This famous, dramatic gorge has featured in many films, such as James Bond's Skyfall, and was the backdrop for some scenes in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and is the perfect preparation for your visit to the famous "Harry Potter Bridge", which you will see during the tour. We stop here for photos and learn about the history of Glencoe, including the massacre of the MacDonald clan in 1692. From atmospheric Glencoe we head further along the shores of Loch Linnhe to the Highland town of Fort William, nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. We stop here to stretch your legs and enjoy Lunch before continuing to the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Glenfinnan Viaduct is world-famous for being a scene from the Harry Potter film series, and is surrounded by the spectacular Loch Shiel and mountains. Not only is this location famous for the Jacobite Steam Train Tickets(not to be confused with the Hogwarts Express), Loch Shiel is also home to the 'Black Lake'. See if you can spot the 'Grindylow' wreaking havoc beneath the surface! It's also the scene for Buckbeak's beautiful flight, the Triwizard Tournament, and the backdrop for the lake that Hogwarts sits on. We enjoy photo opportunities at the viaduct before visiting the nearby Glenfinnan Monument, which symbolizes one of the most important events in Scottish history: the Jacobin Rising of 1745. After leaving Glenfinnan, we begin our journey back to Edinburgh, stopping for supplies along the way in the small village of Pitlochry. Enjoy some time to stretch your legs and grab a quick bite to eat before we head back to Edinburgh, where our Glenfinnan, Glencoe and Fort William adventure will come to an end.
