It collects thousands of different animal and plant specimens from all over the world, ranging from prehistoric dinosaurs and whales to glass jars. There are all kinds of insects in it.</h2><p><br></p><h2>In 1990, the Irish government founded the Irish Museum of Modern Art and chose the former site of the Royal Hospital as its building. The museum was officially opened to the public in 1991 after renovation.</h2>
