### Kerið Volcanic Crater Estimated to be 6,500 years old, Creede Crater is an amazing sight. This well-preserved crater is 170 meters in diameter and 55 meters deep. There is an azure blue lake at the bottom of the crater.Visitors can study this natural phenomenon from the crater rim or descend to the water level via a wooden staircase. Either way, one will be struck by the sheer scale of Creede.In recent years a small entrance fee has been charged to maintain and preserve this attraction. This entrance fee is included in the price of your tour. ### Friðheimar Greenhouse and Horse Farm Friðheimar Farm is famous for its greenhouses and stables.First, you'll visit the farm's famous stables and meet the unique Icelandic horses, known for their small size, strength, and good spirits, and your owner will demonstrate the five gaits unique to this breed.Iceland is famous for its hot springs and geothermal energy, and a visit to Friðheimar Farm highlights how Icelanders are using this green energy in their gardening. Powerful solar lamps in the greenhouse help grow a variety of tomatoes that otherwise would not thrive in Iceland's harsh conditions.You will have a guided tour of the greenhouses, where the process will be presented in a lively and informative way. Afterwards, you will taste the fruits of these labors, followed by a leisurely Lunch at a reserved table. Please note that Lunch costs are not included in your tour price. ### Gullfoss Waterfall Gullfoss, which translates to "Golden Falls" in English, is one of Iceland's most powerful and very impressive waterfalls. The waterfall is part of the Hvítá River, which is fed by meltwater from the huge Langjökull glacier in the north. In winter, when meltwater is less or non-existent, 80 cubic meters of water flow down per second. In summer, this Traffic increases to 140 cubic meters per second.The spray from the falls can hit you for hundreds of meters before you see the waterfall, which is a small price to pay for witnessing the power of nature. ### Geysir Geothermal Area “Geysir” is probably the only English word that is directly derived from Icelandic, and its usage can be traced back to our next stop, the Geysir geothermal area.Geysir, located in the Haukadalur valley, itself no longer erupts without human intervention, but its younger brother, Strokkur, performs reliably. Strokkur erupts every five to ten minutes. Strokkur bubbles for several minutes, building up visitors' anticipation, before spewing boiling water and steam up to 20 meters high.In addition to Sturrock, visitors can follow several trails to see the park's famous boiling hot springs and steam vents. ### Thingvellir National Park Our final stop of the day is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a title well-deserved due to its geological and historical significance.Thingvellir is located in the rift valley between the North American and Eurasian plates. The effects of continental drift are clearly visible here, with the two plates moving apart by up to 2 centimeters per year, creating a dramatic and unique landscape. A canyon called Almannagjá lies between the two plates, where visitors can take a leisurely stroll between the two continents.Thingvellir was also the first site of Iceland's Althingi, or parliament, the world's longest continuously operating parliament. Descendants of the first settlers established a general assembly here in 930 AD that met annually to resolve disputes. Chiefs would travel days or weeks to represent their tribal areas. The assembly lasted from 930 AD until 1798, when the Althingi was moved to Reykjavík. ### Reykjavík After visiting Thingvellir, we will return to Reykjavik and drop you off at your designated Hotel or Bus stop.
