This 'Highland in Microcosm' tour takes you on a sightseeing trip to the Trossachs National Park, visit Stirling Castle and hear about the lands and legends of Scottish heroes William Wallace and Rob Roy. Enjoy a boat trip on Loch Lomond. Depart from the Meeting point in Glasgow city in the morning and travel through the picturesque Campsie Hills. The first stop is Loch Lomond, one of Scotland's most popular lakes, and enjoy a boat trip of about one hour. Admire the lake's many islands and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Stroll through the picturesque village (Luss) and admire its quaint houses, cafes and stunning views of the lake's western coastline. Continue for Lunch to the small village of Aberfoyle, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Trossachs National Park, just below the Highland Fault Line. After Lunch continue to explore Scotland's first national park (Trossachs), known as the "Epitome of the Highlands" for its rich lakes, mountains and forests and for being the home of legendary gangster Rob Roy MacGregor. Depart in the afternoon for the last stop of your journey: Stirling Castle. The castle sits on volcanic rock and offers stunning views. There will be Time to visit the castle and learn about the exploits of key historical figures including William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots. There are many interesting attractions here, and the Stirling Castle experience is well worth a visit! (Please note: Stirling Castle will be closed on the following dates: 9th, 10th, 11th August.
