This huge herd numbered over 10,000 elephants in 2011 and you will be able to see how the orphanage cares for all of them. The facility is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for Asian elephants trying to increase their numbers. They have been rescuing orphaned elephants that have been abandoned by their mothers or lost in the wild due to development projects or similar disturbances. You will play with the elephants and see the riverside area where the elephants wade and swim to cool off from the sun. Take a break for lunch before heading to Kandy Viewpoint, which offers stunning panoramic views of the city sprawling below. You can then head to the Royal Botanic Gardens, which has many famous orchid collections. Your tour ends with return to your hotel.</p>
