Enjoy a magical trip to Faksafroy Bay with our expert crew and specially trained naturalists. Explore Reykjavik's whales with the outstanding guidance of our marine biologist Guide and learn about the Standard Price wildlife that call Iceland home. The bay is even home to a variety of birds, from puffins and gannets to guillemots, all of which feed on the bay's abundant fish. The area is surrounded by stunning landscapes that create a unique contrast with the vast ocean, and the breathtaking views on the horizon are certainly not to be missed. Meet us at the ticket office next to the Old Port in the center of Reykjavik, where you will redeem your prepaid voucher for your boarding Flight Tickets. Just a few steps along the pier you'll find our Visitor Center, housed on a converted fishing boat right next to the pier. You will meet the staff here. Head downstairs to the Hull and stroll through our unique floating wildlife exhibit and learn more about the animals we may encounter on our tours. You board the whale watching boat through the visitor center where you will find several outdoor viewing platforms, a heated indoor salon with a large picture window, a cafeteria where refreshments can be purchased, restroom facilities and a cloakroom where blankets can be borrowed and work clothes for the duration of the trip. You can stay outside and get some fresh air, but you're also welcome to sit in the heated lounge and watch from the inside. Our talented naturalists will provide live commentary throughout the tour and notify you of any sightings while we are on the road. Common whale species on our tours are minke whales, humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins and harbor porpoises. We occasionally see Other species such as killer whales, fin whales, sei whales, and long-finned pilot whales, but they are less common. Whales are very active during the summer, providing us with a great opportunity to see and learn about them in their natural environment. However, the variety of whales we see in winter surprises us every year, and as our research shows, more and more whales are staying in the area year-round!
