We really enjoyed this tour! Our driver was great and she was able to manuever the bus in some really tough areas making it look easy. The bus was extremely clean. Our tour guide Robert was phenominal. He has a wealth of knowledge about Louisiana history, land and people, not to mention about New Orleans and the plantations in the area and kept us informed the entire trip. We really enjoyed Oak Alley Plantation and the time allotted was perfect. The swamp boat ride was very nice as well and we got to see several gators, which our guide said was surprising because it is the time of year when they are not as active. There were several raccoons and regrets as well. We highly recommend this tour.

We had a great experience visiting Oak Alley Plantation, and a big part of it was thanks to our driver, Kin. Originally from New Orleans, he shared a lot of knowledge about the city’s history during the drive and gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. He was truly great and very professional. I highly recommend him! His vehicle was also very comfortable, which made the trip even more enjoyable. As for Oak Alley itself, the visit is interesting for anyone who wants to see the inside of a former slaveholder’s house, as both the mansion and the grounds are very well preserved. The guided tour of the house is paid, but access to the gardens and the former slave quarters is free. If your main interest is learning more about the lives of enslaved people, I would recommend visiting Whitney Plantation instead, as it offers a deeper and more focused perspective on that history.

My family and I enjoyed this tour because it really showcased the beautiful Black history of New Orleans in an authentic way. This tour is 100% worth the value that you’re paying for. The Whitney tour was very informative and educational and truly depicts what life was unfortunately like during slavery. The cultural tour highlighted Black Art, historical buildings, Hurricane Katrina, and the legacy of 9th ward. I also had the wonderful opportunity to meet Dr.Tate at the TEP Center and learn about desegregation in New Orleans. I was also able to learn about Second Line Celebration and black owned businesses that were in NOLA before gentrification.Dennis was an amazing tour guide and was also so kind enough to drop us off at our hotel. This tour was my favorite part about going to New Orleans ! This is something you cannot miss !

This was such a unique experience and unlike anything I have done in New Orleans before. Taking the time to travel outside of the city to see a gorgeous plantation was amazing, but the real treat was the history we learned about while there. Not only was the Big House tour informative and interesting, the self guided tour of the enslaved quarters and lives was really eye opening.
