Mary reached out the day before via WhatsApp and answered my logistic questions. Overall Iām very happy I joined her tour. She is patient, upbeat, and explained well without being overwhelming. Perhaps Iām out of shape, but this ~5 hours walking tour was intense during the last hour or so. Be sure to wear comfiest shoes and bundled up! Also Iām glad Maryās notes did mention bringing drinks and snacks with you. The snack shops inside the Forbidden City were too long to wait.ā

I was late on the first session of the trip which is at 7.30 should leave the meeting point. However Brown our tour guide quickly arrange another session at 8AM with Lina as our guide to Great Wall. Lina is friendly and knowledgeable and she give us a coupon for discount to eat in Great wall Area. Then the next session to Summer Palace we meet up with Brown again after touring the Great Wall. He explain well about Summer Palace and other things. He is also friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend both Lina and Brown if you book this trip.ā

This time, our group of six chose the Xiucai Shuo private tour for our Forbidden City trip, and it was fantastic and well worth it! Our guide, Mr. Chen, provided incredibly detailed explanations, starting from the Meridian Gate and continuing through the newly opened Hall of Mental Cultivation, Palace of Earthly Tranquility, and Palace of Gathering Elegance. It was packed with knowledge! Mr. Chen was also very kind and took many photos for us. The only downside was that the four hours went by too quickly; it definitely wasn't enough. Next time we're in Beijing, we'll definitely book another tour with Mr. Chen from Xiucai Shuo for such amazing explanations! Our family loved it! ā¤ļøā

The tour guide was patient and professional. He informed the group of specific details one day in advance. The explanation was lively and interesting, and he also told us what was worth seeing. He didn't just recite a script, but felt very alive. He was very attentive throughout the whole process. It was a perfect experience in the Forbidden City. I didn't expect the blind selected group to be so good. I will look for this team again if I have the chance. I look forward to meeting you again.ā

Our guide Mr Wang was extremely knowledgeable and humorous. It was an extremely informative tour, and he brought his own materials (prints) to supplement the tour to explain the history of the mansion. Great references to čæē ę ¼ę ¼, the famous TV drama featuring a fictitious princess of the Qian Long emperor. You need to be quite fluent in Chinese and have a basic understanding of Chinese imperial history to truly appreciate what Mr Wang is sharing. Suitably impressed with the tour and I will recommend it to any history buff interested in the history of Qing dynasty.ī„
