I was late on the first session of the trip which is at 7.30 should leave the meeting point. However Brown our tour guide quickly arrange another session at 8AM with Lina as our guide to Great Wall. Lina is friendly and knowledgeable and she give us a coupon for discount to eat in Great wall Area. Then the next session to Summer Palace we meet up with Brown again after touring the Great Wall. He explain well about Summer Palace and other things. He is also friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend both Lina and Brown if you book this trip.★

Mary reached out the day before via WhatsApp and answered my logistic questions. Overall I’m very happy I joined her tour. She is patient, upbeat, and explained well without being overwhelming. Perhaps I’m out of shape, but this ~5 hours walking tour was intense during the last hour or so. Be sure to wear comfiest shoes and bundled up! Also I’m glad Mary’s notes did mention bringing drinks and snacks with you. The snack shops inside the Forbidden City were too long to wait.★

Excellent service, fantastic experience, great value for money, overall superb! The bus was clean, the driver was steady, the tour guide was responsible, and there were no hidden costs. 1. Thoughtful: Tour guide Han added my information and assigned me a family number the day before the trip for easy identification. She patiently explained travel precautions after boarding and summarized them again before disembarking. 2. Enthusiastic: Enthusiastic about her work and enthusiastic towards tourists. Tour guide Han guided us throughout the trip, explaining things and recommending what to eat, do, and visit in Beijing – a walking travel guide. 3. Professional: Tour guide Han wasn't just a scripted, emotionless guide; she incorporated her own feelings and experiences about the Great Wall and the Summer Palace into her explanations. 4. Humorous: After a long journey, everyone inevitably felt tired, so she used humor and authentic Beijing dialect to ease our fatigue. A wonderful excursion, we absolutely loved it! Everything was exactly as described. We purchased the boats and daytime cable car separately for 80 and 160 yuan per person, respectively. I highly recommend it. The tour price also included lunch in a hot pot, which was also perfect. We visited Gubei on November 16th, and we were lucky with the weather (sunny all day). The temperature was 3-4 degrees Celsius during the day and 0 - -2 degrees Celsius after sunset. Wrap up as warm as possible, as VKS is not only cold but also very windy. Our guide was Roberta, a wonderful woman who explained everything in detail, provided backup and assistance if needed. You can buy a super warm fleece jacket from the bus driver for 50 yuan. If you decide to take a taxi back to Beijing, it will cost around 400-500 yuan.
