Reviews: Auckland: Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Small-Group Tour & Lunch
Guest User2026-02-05
Liam was a fantastic guide! He shared many interesting facts about New Zealand, its culture, origins, and history along the way. He chose beautiful routes and even took a different one on the way back so we could see even more of the New Zealand landscape. The trip was incredibly well-organized! The tour of Hobbiton was beautiful! Lunch was also delicious, with generous portions and a great restaurant offering a wide selection. Visiting the glowworm cave was magical. Just be aware that photography isn't allowed inside. On the way to Hobbiton, we stopped at a great breakfast spot, and on the way back, we had ice cream. All in all, a fantastic trip that I highly recommend!

It rained in Hobbiton but we still had a great time. Hamilton Gardens was a bit difficult to navigate and it was hard to manage our time.

Excellent, lively and knowledgeable driver cum guide Bunty who not only shared immensely useful Information but kept us entertained through his anecdotes and engaging conversations. Went out of the way to give us unique experience of visiting the swinging bridge and accommodated a request to visit a friend to say hello and yet kept the time. Given the start was very early, he ensured that we have brief stop for coffee and snack before heading out to first of the two engagements for the day. This itself made the visit memorable additional to visit to glow worm caves and visit to Geysers and sumptuous lunch. Overall a fantastic trip…Kudos to FlexiToursNZ who kept their words of keeping the vehicle suited for small group with comfortable seats.

Everything was magnificent, everyone in the group was very punctual, and the driver was a true expert. Although it's one of the more expensive tours I've paid for in Oceania, it's well worth it. Thank you.
