I had such a fun and memorable experience on this trip. The group was incredibly lively and friendly, making it easy to enjoy the day as a solo traveler. Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history of every location we visited. This is a solid one-day activity to experience the Kazakh outdoors. We went to 5 sites, including a ride on an old Soviet bus and a pony, with a delicious lunch at a local home. If you have more time, stretching it to a two-day trip with an overnight stay in a yurt would probably be better but if you only have a day to spare, do this. We had a pleasant guide, Naz, and driver and they managed a packed day without us feeling too rushed. ★

We had a great experience doing this tour with Nursultan, our guide for the days in Almaty. The Charyn Canyon is a very beautiful and huge place, a little bit far from Almaty, but perfectly suitable for a day trip. I was with my wife and kids (7 and 3 years old) and we do recommend it! Don't forget to take your flip-flops and swimsuits, because the water is very inviting in the end of the track.★
