A very convenient pass! We used it to visit several places from Osaka: Hiroshima and Miyajima, Himeji, Kurashiki, Okayama, and Kyoto. We activated it at Kansai Airport. It took us a while to figure out how to buy tickets from the machine. It turns out you have to insert them one at a time, not a bunch.

Go to the Foreigner Information Center and get help reserving your seat! For non-reserved seats, arrive early and wait in line before the train time indicated by the staff member. You can secure a seat!
