I bought an eSIM for the UAE because I was transiting through Sharjah for 17 hours and absolutely needed a connection. I tried an eSIM card for the first time and was amazed at how easy it was to get one. I specifically bought the extended country package because I was on a Persian Gulf cruise. I had no issues anywhere, and the connection was excellent everywhere. I had plenty of data and speed. I'm sure I'll always take an eSIM card with me when I travel, and I'll probably get one from trip.com, because first impressions last forever :)
