Reviews: Jimmy’s Classic Marlborough Wine tours
Guest User2025-10-15
Wow - what can I say, Jimmy was so engaging, knowledgeable and just a joy to be around! Being in the wine industry, I struggle to find a wine tour that finds just the right balance between knowledge of the wine region and just being pleasant and fun. Jimmy covers it all! His selection of wineries, based on our tastes, was excellent (You know which was our favorite Jimmy!). What a lovely afternoon we spent together - hope to do it again in the future! Thank you Jimmy for a memorable afternoon!

We travelled to South Island and drove from Christchurch to Blenheim, specifically to visit Omaka. Boy were we excited. The exhibits are incredible. So much thought has been put into each display and plenty of information. See both WWI and WWII exhibits including staying for the short film which is so cleverly made. Great location, excellent for all ages. It also has a lovely cafe so you can stop for a coffee.

Ok, I'm a modeler and a history buff, so I could focus one the few bad pieces and incorrectly identified items that are mixd in with the good ones. But why would I if there is so much to enjoy here. What a truly great way to tell the story of 1908-1945 aviation and make it accessible to and bring it to life for a broad audience! Well done! The live-sized diorama's breathe life into a broad range of WWI and WWII aviation topics; there are many rare and exceptionally restored aircraft on display; and the personal items on display add a personal aspect to the exhibition that might otherwise be missing. Personally, I would have avoided displaying Gode (repro)awards on the von Eberhard tunic, especially since his actual awards were recently sold at auction; and would have handled some of the attributions and identification of specific individual items more carefully - but those are details, that do not distract from the presentation as a whole, or from the great effort the museum makes to bring history to life. Well done, and well worth a visit!
Reviews: Taste the Valley Wine Tour in Marlborough with Wine Tasting

It was a very lovely half day tour that coloured our last day in Blenheim as a wonderful memory! The four wineries has amazing tasting wine lists which we couldn’t find in store back in Auckland and the host Phill was so kind and thoughtful!

We were taken to three very different wineries. A great variety and all had superb wines. Our tour guide was awesome. We were a group of six. Highly recommend. The price was right, too.

A very interesting tour as we visited a number of wineries varying from a well-known name to specialist locals. We were collected from our motel and Darlene made us comfortable right from the start. She has good local knowledge, could answer our questions with ease and gave us a good insight to the area’s history. At each winery we tasted quality wines not only representative of their range but also of the Marlborough district. Best of all we were able to relax and enjoy the wines. Highly recommended.
