We had 2 private, half-day tours with Vlad Chiciudean in Bucharest - the city under Ceausescu and the history of Bucharest's Jews.
Vlad is smart, funny, super knowledgeable and not only prepared to answer every single question you might have but also to share personal stories that put a human face to the facts. We like experiences that are off the beaten tourist track and Vlad took us to places that I'm pretty sure few visitors have seen. The marble floors, extracted from limestone taken from the Apuseni Mountains, of a subway station, that featured prehistoric fossils. We're still talking about what we learned.
If Vlad lived in our town, I'd invite him to dinner!★
