This was such experience and an amazing way to get to know the region and its history. We were originally booked for the 1/2 day tour and upgraded to the full day. I am so grateful we did because it would have felt rushed otherwise. Our guide was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and made wine accessible and not stuffy for anyone in the group who may have been learning. The drive was incredible, the village’s picturesque and tranquil. It was like a journey through time. We visited two wineries, each very different but gave us a sense of all the region had to offer. Our guide made extra stops for us to take in the views and the lay of the land which was helpful in understanding how they classify their wines. Our two hours in Beaune was perfect. We had a leisurely lunch and then strolled the town. Stopped in a cheese shop that had amazing goodies. It was a perfect day. Thank you to our guide!★

The cysterian abbaye of the 12th century was very well preserved.
The small jewel of the French Revolution, which was transformed into paperwork and classified as UNESCO's heritage, was one of the tournament sites of Cyrano de Bergerac (with Gérard Depardieu).
Take time to watch, at the outlet level, near the store of memories, the bubble of the Pope of the Time, dating it also from the 12th century, superbly preserved.
Guided visit in French only, strongly recommended.★

This was a good value tour. We did a few winery/distributor visits and sampled plenty of wines from villages rating to grand cru rating. Virginia was knowledgeable and a pleasent tour guide. I would take this tour again.🙂
