The trail leading to the lakes is immaculate - and fascinating because the flora is so different than that typically found in North America. The cemetery is also very interesting. But note this: it is a serious HIKE to the lakes. This is not for people in wheelchairs or folks carrying children. It’s a workout.

The New Year's Eve arrived in Beijing. It happened that the road was not blocked. The tour guides were muttering that it was rare to get to the hotel so fast. It seems that Beijing's traffic jam is a big problem. It happened to be a few days. God also helped. No smog is really good. The five-star hotel is very good this year.

A very worthwhile and educational experience. We learnt a lot about the history and traditions behind Irish coffee, and really enjoyed making and drinking one! Would highly recommend trying it out.
