The journey from Taipei Main Station takes about 3 hours one way in a minivan. The seats seemed to have been modified; the last row was extremely small and tiring. Upon arriving at Sun Moon Lake, the driver will tell you that the tour offered by Ctrip involves driving around the lake, taking 1.5 to 2 hours, including a 5-minute stop for sightseeing. Alternatively, you can buy a separate ticket for a boat trip on Sun Moon Lake for 300 NTD per person. We chose to take a boat, and the scenery was quite nice; this is a famous scenic spot on the island.
