My husband and I had a lovely visit to Larnach Castle & gardens, the castle is full of history and the views from the turret are breathtaking. The gardens are beautiful, I would highly recommend a visit to this location.

Chris our Guide was fabulous, stopped at molars statues, Allans beach where there was heaps of male and female seals. Stopped at Dunedin railway station, Otago Uni, Dunedin Botanical gardens, Baldwin St, then drove to Point Chalmers to drop off passengers for cruise ship. Next drove back to Dunedin past Forsyth barr Stadium, and finally arriving back where the tour stated the Octagon.

Our driver/tour guide, Jeff, was excellent. He packed so much into the tour taking us to the prettiest parts of a very pretty city in Dunedin. Jeff explained the history of the various places we visited from the dormant whale trading through the Edinburgh like university and the glorious historic train station culminating with ninety minutes at the castle. The bus was perfect for our tour size, Jeff's banter and dry Kiwi humour along with both his deep knowledge and pride in the area made this a great event for us. You cover a lot in Dunedin in the time available and Jeff ensures you are back at the port well before departure.

We had done many things in Dunedin previously, but had not been to Olveston House and I am glad we finally got there. We booked online and chose our time for the tour because it's by guide only not self guided. However we were allowed to look through the gardens and greenhouse by ourselves beforehand. The history of the house and family who lived there was very interesting. If you like looking through historic old homes you will enjoy this.
