For some reason, I couldn't use data roaming, so I used the airport Wi-Fi and train Wi-Fi and contacted customer support via LINE. They said, "I understand simple Japanese, so I'll do my best," and provided me with thorough support. The signal was fast, and it was great to be able to do research and follow my favorite idols without any stress! I'd like to use this service again next time.★

Taiwan has restrictions on SIM cards for foreigners, limiting them to one per person. The last time I went to Taiwan, I brought two smartphones with me, unaware of this, but I was only given one SIM card. This time, I presented an unused voucher at the Chunghwa Telecom counter at Kaohsiung Airport. They converted my SIM card to an eSIM, and after presenting my passport and voucher and signing a few documents, they handled the entire setup process. The entire process and setup took just a few minutes. I used it in Kaohsiung and Tainan, and the signal was always at its maximum, and the connection speed felt faster than 5G in Japan. I was able to watch videos smoothly and without any issues. This time, I chose a three-day plan, but the activation day is free, so I effectively got four days of use, which I think is a great deal. I recommend a SIM plan with a phone number, as you may need a Taiwanese phone number to use YOUBIKE or register as a member in Taiwan, and having the ability to make calls when making restaurant reservations is convenient.
