The price is really high. Although the food is not so diversified, it is a basic group meal. If you want to eat well, you must go outside to eat. The hotel is still OK, but it is a bit far from the city. If you take a car, it takes 1 hour. It is worth mentioning that I have never met such a good place. Her name is Yu Yingxi. She is a native of South Korea and a super cute tour guide. I hope I can meet her again next time. Ha ha

The first time I participated in Trip.com's team tour, except for a few unsatisfactory places, I was generally satisfied. The route design is reasonable and smooth, the hotel (except the Afang Palace in Xi'an), the facilities and services of the Orient Express are good, the group meal is very rich, shopping and self-funded projects are voluntary as the principle, the transportation buses everywhere are clean and tidy and comfortable, and the team leader and the guide are very professional and dedicated. The facilities of Xi'an Afang Palace Hotel are too old and do not match the five-star standard. It is recommended to cancel the Turpan grape ditch trip, because this season there is not a grape seen, unfortunately.

We visited in November on a weekday. Lesser crowd and the weather was perfect, sunny between 10°C & 15°C. Our tour came with a guide who got us the tickets and planned the hiking routes, covering every "tourist-must-see" parts of the mountain. The buffet lunch recommended by the guide at ¥98/pax up on the mountains is a really good deal too. Huangshan is NO JOKE. The 8km up and down the steps lasted for almost 6 hours, excluding the one-way 20mins shuttle bus ride & one-way 10mins cable car ride. At the end of the tour our legs were not cooperative anymore. Besides the breathtaking views, it was also heartbreaking to see elderly potters carrying approximately 180 catties (about 108kg!) of goods up and down the mountains. They are literally breaking their backs 😭! Some even stopped and asked passers-by for water / food. Would forming a bucket brigade or a human chain be workable?


