We went in two cars, seven of us Spanish, to the temple and the grottoes. Everything was fantastic: quick service, explanations provided by a translator, help with ticket collection, and even a stop to take photos. Splendid!★

The Hanging Temple offers little to see without climbing it, and climbing it is tiring. There are many restaurants near the Yungang Grottoes, so avoid eating at the Hanging Temple. I don't recommend listening to guided tours of the grottoes; I felt I knew more than I did myself, and they didn't get to the point. The all-encompassing sculptural art of the grottoes is still very impressive.
The driver was very nice and friendly. There was no smell of smoke in the car. The ride was smooth.Trip.com picks
