Reviews: A one-day tour to the secret place of Kyoto's sea [Amanohashidate cable car overlooking the seagulls, Ine Funaya]
Guest User2025-10-04
We joined a one-day tour from Kyoto, departing from Kyoto Station at 9:40 AM and returning around 6 PM. The day was incredibly fulfilling. The waters of Amanohashidate were crystal clear, and the Ine Boathouse was ancient and unique. Our tour guide, Cui Haihua, spoke both Chinese and Korean, and provided detailed explanations. The itinerary was well-organized, and the guides made the trip relaxing and enjoyable. Highlights: The cable car and boat ride are a must-try; it's a worthwhile experience.

🌳 3 Must-Do Things at Amanohashidate 1️⃣ Climb to the top of "Umbrella Pine Park" for a bird's-eye view of the sandbar → Take the cable car to the top (round trip ¥720), and take a "reverse Fuji" composition from the viewpoint overlooking the sea. → Hidden spot: The west side of the observation deck at the top of the mountain offers a stunning view of the sandbar and the Aso Sea side-by-side! 2️⃣ Walk barefoot on the "Natural White Sand Beach" → Take off your shoes and walk on 2km of pure white sand. The seawater washing over your ankles at high tide is incredibly soothing. → Rent a bicycle (¥500/hour) and chase seagulls along the sandbar, feeling the shape of the wind. 3️⃣ Visit "Chieunji Temple" for amulets → Vermilion torii gates paired with century-old pine trees; seek amulets for academic success/marriage (from ¥800). → Touch the "Manjushri Wisdom Wheel" and spin it three times; legend says it will make you smarter!
Reviews: Amanohashidate & Ine Fishing Village Day Tour from Kyoto or Osaka

It was a pleasure to meet Batu-san. He was incredibly dedicated throughout the trip, explaining the activities and important details in the most balanced way possible. He even had to explain things in two languages, one to the Chinese and one to the Japanese clients – it was truly hard work. Thank you, and I hope to have the opportunity to participate in your activities again!
Reviews: Kyoto in One Day: Amanohashidate, Ine Funaya & Miyama Thatched Village
Guest User2025-07-09
Yesterday's day trip was very well planned. The boathouses in Egan were beautiful, and the boat trip to feed the seagulls was a lot of fun. The view from Amanohashidate was especially spectacular, and the ride on the small cable car was also very interesting. Finally, we went to My Son Village, which was also a very beautiful village. Time was a bit tight, but our tour guide, Wu Kaiwen, was friendly and fun, and the driver was professional and highly skilled, which allowed us to have more time to explore.
Reviews: Kyoto Small Group one-day tour| Ine Funaya + Amanohashidate + Feeding Seagulls in Ine Bay + Praying at Chionji Temple

Although the journey was long, it was still a very enjoyable trip. We took a bus from Osaka; the bus was very clean, and the driver was very friendly. The tour guide on the bus was very skilled, switching between Chinese and English to give a presentation, and his explanations were quite detailed. Since our tickets didn't include tickets, the tour guide even helped us buy them, so we didn't have to worry at all.
Reviews: A Day Trip to Kyoto's Amanohashidate and Ine's Funaya (Sea of Japan) with a View of Seagulls from a Cruise Ship!

This tour offers beautiful scenery, but the only downside is its distance; it's about 3 hours from Osaka and 2 hours from Kyoto. A day trip would only allow for a rushed overview, so a group tour is more convenient, and the option to get off at different stations in Kyoto or Osaka is excellent! I was extremely satisfied with tour guide Hu Jun's service. His explanations of the attractions were clear and thorough. He sent me the meeting points the day before and at each attraction, and he even used WeChat and Line to differentiate between tour members from different regions. His attentive service deserves a superb rating!
