Reviews: Guided tour: Timanfaya National Park and La Geria with pick-up

We wanted to book a South Island tour with our tour operator, Jet2, but they never responded to our call!! Now we are glad they didn't! This tour was great. Very informative, the guide was friendly and funny and her English was great. We started at the camel rides, and although my husband and I didn't want a ride, it was an interesting stop. There was a small museum, toilet and gift shop, and we were there for around 20 minutes. Next, we headed to the Timfanaya National Park. Here, we went to the summit where we saw the geothermic experiments and had time to look around the gift shop, get a drink, use the toilets, and take some great photos! After this, our coach driver took us carefully around the national park, and we learned all about the eruptions on Lanzarote. I loved this part and got some more great photos. If you don't like heights, I'd recommend sitting on the left/ drivers side of the bus, as most of the "drops" are on the right!! We had a short stop in a village that was miraculously missed by the lava flow, here we could buy a drink or some lunch. It was a very pretty spot to stop. Then, lastly, it was on to the vineyards at La Geria. Don't be expecting a full wine tasting. You get to taste one, which was delicious. But, this is where the difference in tours lies. As I said at the beginning, we were trying to book the tour through Jet2, but it was twice the price of this tour!!!! Maybe you get a longer wine tasting on the more expensive tours, but we found this to be perfect for us! The time in each stop was long enough to get some great photos, the guide was brilliant and full of knowledge, and we were out for around 5 hours, which I think is great value. I would definitely recommend this tour.

It was a great experience, with a very comprehensive tour of the southern and central parts of La Palma. The Tajogaite volcano area was very impressive. You can feel the suffering they endured and also the strength they exerted and continue to exert to overcome the forces of nature.

A fantastic tour with a top-notch crew! It took a while to spot the whales, but then we got incredibly close. But it wasn't just the whales that made it special; the boat trip along the coast with its beautiful views was also a highlight.
Reviews: La Palma: Guided Trekking Tour To Cubo de la Galga

A very pleasant hike, not difficult in terms of elevation gain, but the ground was slippery in several places. I recommend bringing walking poles and wearing good soles on your shoes. The guide, Amanda, is very friendly and knows the terrain well, as well as many of the plants in this lush forest where ferns, chestnut trees, laurels, etc., grow.

The guide Andoni and the bus driver were fantastic. Hats off to their driving skills! Andoni presented the island in a very entertaining and informative way. The only downside was the weather in the national park. Perhaps the program could be adapted in the future and a spontaneous alternative offered.
Reviews: Hiking Route Visit to the New Volcano of La Palma

A fabulous experience. We had a small group of 5 and our guide, Amanda, was very informative and attentive. The walk is not too difficult and doesn’t need any special equipment, if you can easily manage a 3 mile walk across fields and a couple of gentle hills you’ll be fine. Be prepared to get dusty and sand in your shoes though. We did it as a self-organised excursion on a cruise ship stop in s/c de la Palma. Very easy to get the 300 bus from right outside the port to El Paso - €1.35 each way and it takes about 40 minutes. Much better than any cruise ship tour!
