Value for money tour to Longji Rice Terrace. Left at 8am along with another 5 travellers( MPV sits 8 travellers), and arrived around 10.30am at Ping An village. Walked up to the Nine Dragon & Five Tiger Viewing platform, which gives a great view of the area. Then, it was a lunch break followed by visit to Jin Keng, which had a different vibe. Then a short visit to the Yao Tribe village which had many closed stores ( as it was the winter). And ride back to Guilin arriving by 6.15pm

This was a wonderful tour that I did one-on-one with my guide, Daniel. He took his time to explain the history of the rice terraces, discuss the history of tea in the region while allowing us time to actually sip the tea with a local, and when we had some extra time, he took me to explore other parts of the area, including a Yao village and the hair museum. I really learned so much from him, and would gladly do a tour with him again.

The itinerary was well-planned, the driver was warm and attentive, and the farmhouses in Datangbian Village recommended by the driver offered excellent food at reasonable prices. Personally, I preferred the ginkgo trees in Datangbian Village; they were more photogenic, and the leaves were more vibrant yellow. The driver even kindly helped me catch my earlier high-speed train to Guangzhou South; I'm very grateful.

The trip to the Longji rice terraces was spectacular. Nieves accompanied us the whole time and was very helpful. Lunch in the small village of Pinghan was excellent.


