We booked tickets for Jiulong Lake through Ctrip, and the price was quite reasonable. We were two families with children, a total of six people traveling together. We stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel in downtown Ningbo, about 18 kilometers from the scenic area, allowing us to experience both the city's nightlife and the beautiful scenery. Jiulong Lake is an artificial lake, and the scenic area is quite large, but since we traveled in June, it was still a bit hot, although the air was very fresh. Overall, it was a great vacation choice.

We found this tour great! The bus starts early morning and takes about 2,5 hours to get to Jinshanling. A short shuttle bus service from the ticket gate to a souvenir selling area was included, however not all the way up to the wall, which some other tourists outside our tour took. The hike is quite hard, the wall goes up and down steeply and many times. We had a great guide, who took good care of all our group members and explained clearly the timeline and itinerary of the day. Our group reached the east gate to catch our bus back to Beijing at around 14:30. The way back to Beijing takes a bit longer due to evening traffic. We reached Beijing a bit before 6pm, which was great considering other tours might arrive late at night.

The tour includes round-trip transportation (which is best arranged in advance), and they explain how to access the city walls and the entrance process. They provide transportation to the entrance, where you can have lunch on your own, or in our case, we brought our own food. Once at the top of the walls, we took some time to eat and relax, as they give you plenty of time to explore the beautiful walls on your own. On the way back, they make a stop in another town; you can enter for a fee if you wish, or wait outside. From there, you can see the walls illuminated at night. For us, the tour was exactly what we expected and very reasonably priced compared to other tours. Susy was very friendly and attentive to the pickup.

We had an amazing day with Mr Ping from Leo’s Private Tour. He was at the pick up spot on time, and shared a lot of history about Beijing and the Great Wall on our drive to Jinshanling. He answered all of our questions and was super friendly. Mr Ping was patient with the group of 6 of us, was thoughtful and made sure we have bathroom, coffee and food breaks, and provided us with time alone to enjoy the wall but also joined us for a chat. Mr Ping helped us when we were looking for recommendations for a new part of Beijing to explore, and also gave us an amazing recommendation for a restaurant!! Thank you Mr Ping!

I joined the tour at the last minute, so I didn't have high expectations. However, our tour guide, Susie, was surprisingly considerate of us. The bus first dropped off the larger group at Gubei Water Town, and then we transferred to a minibus to Jinshanling. I must say, the minibus driver, Mr. An, was incredibly thoughtful. He took care of every single tourist. He even urged us to get on the bus quickly in the evening because it was getting chilly. Jinshanling Great Wall. I descended the mountain from the East Five-Eyed Tower. Every snapshot I took was a beautiful scene. If you have enough time, I recommend watching the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening. This way, you can see the golden hues of Jinshanling. I am very satisfied with this tour organized by Ctrip.
