Reviews: [Official Ticket] Cotai Water Jet one-way boat ticket (Hong Kong Sheung Wan to Macau Taipa)
Guest User2025-12-30
Pleasant ride, I slept all the way. They don’t pre assign the seats when they issue you the physical ticket when you enter the so called pre immigration zone. They issue you the seating arrangements at the boarding counter instead, via physical stickers.

I used this service as a solo female traveler in my 30s. I learned about the Macau government's "Free One-Way from Hong Kong to Macau Campaign" and booked through Trip.com. To sum up, the ease of booking and the smoothness of the day-of trip were all perfect, making it an incredibly rewarding experience! [Pros] • Incredible Value: I was incredibly grateful to receive the ferry fare, which would normally cost about 3,500 yen (175 HKD), for free. It allowed me to use that money to splurge on a slightly more luxurious lunch in Macau! • Smooth Booking: The Trip.com website is easy to understand in Japanese, and the process only took a few minutes. I felt at ease knowing the voucher arrived promptly. • On-the-Day Procedures: I simply presented my passport and the reservation screen on my smartphone at the ticket counter in Sheung Wan, and my ticket was issued smoothly. The staff were experienced, so I had no trouble at all. [Onboard] I used the Cotai Water Jet. The interior was clean, the air conditioning was just right, and the approximately one-hour boat ride was very comfortable. Free Wi-Fi was also available, which made it convenient for checking out Macau's tourist attractions during the trip.

Process was very easy. Trip.com provides you with a QR code, they scan it, you go through immigration and then they provide you with your seat ticket with a QR code where you could order food or drinks onboard.

We missed our original scheduled ferry but the Turbojet team was able to schedule us on next ferry on the same tickets.

Board the ferry at Sheung Wan Ferry Pier. It's conveniently located just a short taxi ride from Harbour City through a tunnel. Use the QR code to exchange for your ticket, then go through customs and wait in the waiting hall to get your seat number. Ferries depart for Taipa every half hour.

The instructions are not very clear and after passing the immigration, it was not the same coach to continue the journey.
