I used this service for the following routes: Taipei-Tainan, Tainan-Chiayi, Chiayi-Tainan, and Tainan-Taipei. I was able to book online the first time, but after that I couldn't book online and had to book at the counter. Please be careful! I enjoyed the excitement of having stickers indicating my destinations attached to my ticket!

Simply show the QR code at the designated reception desk. Saying "Onegaishimasu" (please) in Japanese is fine. You will be given two purple coins (one for each leg of the journey). Hold the coins over the reader at the ticket gate to enter. When you exit, insert the coins into the coin slot at the ticket gate.


