Escape the city and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Japan's autumn season with a one-day trip to Nikko! Journey through the legendary Irohazaka Slope, famous from Initial D, where a series of 48 curves wind through vibrant red, orange, and golden maple leaves. Visit the powerful Kegon Waterfall, one of Japan's top three waterfalls, and enjoy a peaceful stroll along the shores of Lake Chuzenji. For even more spectacular views, you can opt to ride the Akechidaira Ropeway (1,000 yen round-trip) for a panoramic overlook of the mountains blanketed in fall colors. In the afternoon, hop aboard the nostalgic Watarase Keikoku Railway, where the train slowly winds through a scenic valley, offering another angle of Japan's seasonal charm. This is the perfect tour for nature lovers, anime fans, and anyone looking to capture the magic of autumn in Japan.

Buy a voucher here, then go to the JR counter at the designated train station (I exchanged it at Sendai Station). We will then get the actual pass. It's not difficult, very convenient.

I've booked a day trip to this attraction twice over the years, only to be informed the day before the trip that the group couldn't form and had to be refunded. This time, the itinerary was adjusted for Friday, and I successfully booked it again at 9:50 PM. I contacted the tour guide promptly and arrived at the pick-up point early Saturday morning. The itinerary was tight, but thankfully, the minibus was half Chinese and half English, so everyone could understand. Everyone was very punctual, and despite the drizzle, the visit was still very rewarding. The tour guide and driver were both very dedicated and had a good rapport, leaving a positive overall impression.
