Highlight Rimini #1: A wonderful authentic culinary masterclass Yesterday, my wife, our two children and I took the culinary masterclass of la nonna Maria at Villa Maris, Rimini. It was a wonderful experience. We were warmly greeted by the entire family and a friend of the house who served as a translator. First, we were introduced to the art of making tagliatelle. We were kindly guided by Maria with the wisdom of a top chef and the kindheartedness of a grandmother. After kneading the dough, we were treated with delightful appetizers. After the dough had sufficiently rested, we cut it into tagliatelle. In my case, it rather resembled papardelle due to the thickness. I haven't mastered the art just yet. The next step was the cooking of the tagliatelle. We were allowed a peak into the beating heart of Romagnan cuisine in the kitchen of the house. The grandson allowed me a taste of the ragu that was softly simmering on the stove prepared four hours earlier by la nonna herself. A pure culinary delight. But of course, the proof of the tagliatelle al ragu is in the tasting. So, we took place at the grand table withvthe entire family to enjoy the fruits of our hard work and it tasted wonderfully, especially due to Maria's ragu. My youngest son took multiple plates. After the main course we enjoyed an espresso and a plate of dolce. Looking back on this experience, we have to admit it was the highlight so far of Rimini. If you truly want to have an authentic culinary Romagnan experience with the family you must attend the cooking class of Maria. Basta!

It was a great experience! Tour around vinery included compacted story about vinery itself, and processes of vinemaking. Tour groups are up to 10 people, but at this time of day (2 pm) only my girlfriend and I were present. It made whole tasting magical and romantic. Panorama and view around vinery is phenomenal. I recommend sitting outside in shade, instead of inside. However inside is air-conditioned. Tastings offers 3 different paths ("local", "international", and "white vine only"), you decide whichever suits you best. Each path includes 4 or 5 glasses of vine. On top of that there's a platter of meat, cheese and bread. All supplied by local businesses. After tasting you can stay, and try rest of menu as an extra expens. Miss Catherine toured us, and led though whole experience. She spoke fluent, and very understandable English. We felt, we are being cared for like a close friends! I recommend this activity for every vinelover, as well for novice as for an expert.

Amazing. Beautiful home , lovely and friendly family . We had a fantastic meal , and Patti was a fantastic host . The food and wine was far better than restaurant standard , and it was so nice to experience home cooking from a passionate and knowledgeable cook . The tiramisu was better than we have had at ⭐️ restaurants. Highly recommended. Thank you Patti , your home and family are a credit to you .
