It was just my husband and me. We had a great time. It’s very casual and family-like. Andres, Sylvia and Margola were fantastic. Loved the market tour, we tried fruits and juices. The meal preparation was fun and we left with an online recipe book and photo album. Great half-day activity. It was like spending the day with local friends rather than a tour group.★

Cool thing to do and less than 3 hours drive from Quito. We got picked up from our hotel to go to Mindo Cloud Forest. Our guide took us for a walk down the waterfalls as he pointed and explained the faunas and wild plants along the way. We went on the last days of August. No, we did not see any birds but we heard them now and then. We only saw one waterfalls— the one we did a quick dip to.
We decided to just wear clogs and shorts— and it’s totally fine. But we did have water resistant jackets which helped with the cold breeze. The nicest thing you could use is a walking stick and they have a few you can borrow. Trust me, your knees will thank you! We also went to a place of the hummingbirds—- awesome experience when you can feed them sugar water right in the palm of your hand. We went to a restaurant for
Lunch named “serenity” —- best plate of pasta i ever had in years!!! Over all we are thankful we did this tour.★

We arranged this tour ahead of arriving to Mindo. Richard collected us from our hotel and our tour was excellent; we saw 3 different types of Toucans, a variety of tanagers, saffron Finch's, Pacific parrotlets, several types of woodpeckers, and various other endemic species, along with numerous hummingbirds, both at the feeding station and out in the 'wild'. We also got to see the 'cock of the rock' , which was a great treat. His knowledge of the area was interesting and informative, and he answered our questions as we continued our trip through the the day. Richard also suggested places to visit in Mindo during our stay based on our interests. We finished our trip with a stop at the chocolate tour/ shop, which ended our day perfectly. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day with Richard and would highly recommend. Thank you!
